I discovered my gift for therapy when I was teaching violin and music in Hong Kong. As a classically trained violinist (Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, University of Toronto), I was more interested in teaching than performing because of the direct connection with people. During the 20 years I was teaching, I noticed that the students were increasingly more stressed by the demands of their lives. The rise of the internet only exacerbated the students' pressure and their relationships with others. I became more aware of the students' mental and emotional health than their musical progress. It became clear to me that mental health is the foundation for any endeavor in life. Whatever you want to achieve in life, having a strong foundation in mental health will prepare you for any obstacles that come your way. It is my goal to support you in finding your foundation.
I hold a Master's Degree in Couples and Family Therapy, a multi-faith, spiritually integrated degree from Seattle University. My degree prepared me to work with clients in a multicultural context and have the possibility to integrate spiritual approaches to therapy and child & adolescent treatment if that is what clients want or need. I work with children, teenagers, families and couples.
