Life rarely plays out the way we expect it to. Sometimes we find ourselves feeling in over our heads, stuck, or otherwise in need of some compassionate help. I count it a privilege to walk alongside individuals, couples or families who are wanting to explore ways of improving their current situation. I am able to look at the big picture and introduce you to new ways of thinking, new experiences, and new skills sets. I provide the support you need to walk through the tough places. You are the expert on you: your motivation, strengths and weaknesses, resources, and hopes and dreams. Together we can craft a plan to move you forward toward the life you want. The safety and space provided by the therapeutic relationship can free you up and give you the strength to creatively reach for what you desire.
Improving relationships is a particular passion of mine, whether that involves parent-child, couples, whole families, or even peer and professional relationships. More than just training you in communication skills or new methods of discipline, I love helping people experience new ways of being with, seeing, hearing, and feeling safe and supported by each other.
I am comfortable helping you tackle a wide variety of emotional and behavioral issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, parenting, trauma, coping with disabilities, grief and loss, and relationship issues. I am comfortable helping you bring spirituality into the counseling sessions or leaving it out, depending on what you find most helpful.
I have a bachelor's degree in International Business from OSU and a master of arts degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling from George Fox University.
Married for 29 years and the mother of three children, I have personally experienced the ups and downs of life. Those three children introduced me to the challenges of twins, intellectual disability, ADHD, and type 1 diabetes, in addition to the joys all parents and spouses can relate to.
