Julie Kirchner, M.A., Marriage and Family  Associate

Life can be overwhelming and unpredictable sometimes, and this could be your first step in improving your mental health.  We all want to feel connected to others in our lives, and I can help you strengthen your relationships.  I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where my clients can work through issues in their lives.  I will work alongside you to help you achieve your goals.  As a wife and a mother of four children, I have gained an understanding of the complexity of family relationships and I have a passion for helping others to connect.

I enjoy working with couples, families, individuals, and children.  While working with you, I will be using an attachment lens and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help you better understand your emotions, which will give you a better understanding of yourself.  While working with you, I will help you uncover these emotions and help you gain insight into their origin and meaning, which will allow for a deeper investigation into oneself.  I use play therapy with children because it has many benefits for them and their families.

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from George Fox University.  I received additional training in Emotion Focused Therapy, Couples and Family Therapy, Play Therapy, and Parent Training to help with emotional and behavioral difficulties.  Also, I have training in Sand Tray Therapy.

I am a board registered intern, and I am working toward acquiring my hours for licensure.  I am under the supervision of Tony Lai LPC, RPT-S.
