Taking the first step to reach out to a therapist can seem daunting, but it is my promise to my clients that I will make the process of starting therapy and beyond as stress-free as possible. Life is already uncertain and challenging, but the therapeutic experience does not need to be. I am committed to understanding where you are in your life, where you have been, and what your hopes are for the future whether you are an adult, a teen, a child, or a couple.
Some of my client interests, and areas that I have experience and education in are: depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, couples issues, ADHD, Autism, living with chronic health issues and/or pain, substance abuse, weight and body image issues, working with those who have traumatic brain injury, and PTSD, just to name a few.
I have my MA in Clinical Psychology with a Marriage & Family emphasis from Azusa Pacific University with certification in Child Abuse treatment, and Drug and Alcohol treatment. I am a certified Suicide Prevention & Awareness facilitator and feel strongly about speaking on this. I have extensive education and experience in family systems theory, developmental theory, couples theory, cognitive-behavioral theory, and narrative theory.
As well as my master's degree I also have my doctorate of education (EdD) from George Fox University for many years training those going into the counseling field. My doctoral dissertation and research was focused on stress and burnout.
As a board registered intern, I am continuing to accumulate hours towards licensure and am under the supervision of Shari Davison LMFT.
